The leading 72 available Players from the 2023 DP World Tour Exemption Category List, excluding Categories 6 and 8. (NB: The top 5 European Tour Members’ Regulation applies from the ISPS Handa Australian Open and the Alfred Dunhill Championship into this tournament).
72 players from the 2022/2023 Sunshine Tour Exemption Category list (55 Rankings, 7 TP spots, 10 PRE Q Spots)
A maximum of 2 Sunshine Tour professional invitations
A maximum of 2 DP World Tour professional invitations
A maximum of 8 invitations for the Co-organisers issues in consultation with the Sunshine Tour and the DP World Tour.
Eligibility Notes
The following policy will be adopted at close of entries for players who are members of and exempt through both the Sunshine Tour and the DP World Tour: The highest ranked dual Member on the DP World Tour Exemption Category list will be allocated to (b) above, the second highest ranked dual Member will be allocated to (a) above. This alternate allocation will be repeated until all such exempt dual Members are allocated to one Tour or the other.
If there are less than 72 Players entered through (a) above, then the remaining spots will be allocated to (b) above.
If there are less than 2 Players entered through either of (c) or (d) above then the remaining spots will be added to the respective Tour’s allocation in (a) or (b) above.
If there are less than 9 players entered through (e) above then the remaining spots will be added to each Tour’s allocation in (a) or (b) above, with the first spot being allocated to (b) and the next spot being allocated to (a). This alternate allocation will be repeated until all unused invite spots have been allocated to one Tour or the other
When a Player who is a member of both Tours becomes Exempt he will remain allocated to the Tour under which he first became Exempt, even if he subsequently becomes Exempt through his “home” Tour.
